DLC SUPVA Organizes ‘Samvidhan Swabhiman Rally’ to Uphold Constitutional Values
Rohtak, April 23, 2025:
In a spirited continuation of the Constitution Day celebrations, the Dada Lakhmi Chand State
University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), Rohtak, organized the Samvidhan
Swabhiman Rally within its campus premises. The event aimed to instill and reinforce the
values enshrined in the Indian Constitution among students and faculty members.
The rally commenced from the Department of Visual Arts and culminated at the national
flag site located in the central lawn, symbolizing collective respect and commitment towards
the Constitution. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 70 members of
the university community, including faculty, staff, and students.
Preceding the rally, the university curated a series of intellectually stimulating and creatively
enriching activities, like poster-making competition which saw an overwhelming response
from over 70 students across various disciplines. The students expressed their
understanding and reverence for the Constitution through thought-provoking artwork that
reflected themes such as fundamental rights, duties, justice, liberty, equality, and the
democratic ethos of the nation.
A quiz competition was also conducted to test and enhance the students’ knowledge of the
Constitution, Indian polity, and key historical milestones of the country’s democratic
journey. Eight teams—comprising two from each of the four faculties—participated in the
intellectually charged event, with a total of 16 students showcasing their acumen in a
closely contested battle of facts and insights. The winners of these competitions will be
felicitated during the closing ceremony scheduled for April 25.
The rally was coordinated by Sh. Satish Ranga, Head of the Department of Fashion &
Lifestyle Design. Senior faculty members including Dr. Ajay Kaushik, Dean Academic Affairs;
Dr. Shelly Khanna, Head, Faculty of Design; Sh. Vinay Kumar, Head, Department of Visual
Arts; and Sh. Dushyant, Director of Youth Affairs, graced the occasion with their presence
and support.
Sharing his thoughts on the event, Prof. Shree Prakash Singh, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of DLC
SUPVA, remarked:
“The Constitution is not merely a document; it is the soul of our democratic republic.
Through initiatives like the Samvidhan Swabhiman Rally, we aim to deepen constitutional
literacy and inspire our youth to uphold its values in their personal and professional lives.
Such participatory events nurture civic consciousness and reinforce our shared identity as
responsible citizens of India.”
