Students and Faculty Shine at DLC SUPVA’s Six-Day Badminton Tournament 2025
The six-day Badminton Tournament 2025 at Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of
Performing & Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA) concluded today with exciting matches across student
and faculty categories, showcasing remarkable enthusiasm and sporting spirit.
In the students’ category, Vamsi Narayana Das dominated the courts by winning the Men’s
Singles title against Ansh and partnering with Prateek Tyagi to secure the Men’s Doubles
crown, while Ansh and Deepak finished runners-up. In the Women’s events, Gunjan
triumphed in Singles defeating Mayra, and later paired with her to win the Doubles final
against Sneha and Jyoti. In Mixed Doubles, Navneet and Gunjan claimed the top position,
while Vamsi Narayana Das and Jyoti secured second place. The Teaching category saw Vinay
Kumar, Head, Visual Arts, emerge winner in Men’s Singles with Ajay Yadav as runner-up,
while Neeraj Malik, Director, Sports, clinched the and Non-teaching Singles title defeating
Anand Mohan. Neeraj Malik, teaming up with Shalu, also bagged the Mixed Doubles
championship, with Anand Mohan and Pooja finishing second. The tournament concluded
on a high note, reflecting the university’s commitment to promoting fitness, camaraderie,
and a vibrant sporting culture among students and faculty alike.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Amit Arya remarked, “At DLC SUPVA, we believe that sports are as vital
as academics in shaping well-rounded individuals. The Badminton Tournament 2025 not
only showcased the talent and determination of our students and faculty but also
strengthened the spirit of teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition on our campus.”
He also said that in the near future, a sports calendar would be made and a plethora of
sports competitions shall be organized round the year.
The winners of all the categories and the winners of other competitions organized during
the ‘Sewa Pakhwada’ were felicitated in a grand ceremony, in the presence of senior faculty
and staff members.
