Role and Functions

Given the University's enormous growth prospects and the fact that it is engaged in a wide range of creative education domains; the directive of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and University Grants Commission; the Centre is established having a primary role on shouldering the responsibilities of maintaining, generating and promoting quality assurance awareness; ensuring efficient and progressive performance of academic, administrative and financial tasks; relevance and quality of academic and research programmes; optimization and integration of modern methods of teaching and learning; credibility of evaluation procedures; conducting self-evaluative and reflective exercises for continuous improvement in all of the University's systems and operations; and devising mechanisms for interaction and obtaining feedback from different stakeholders.
The mandate of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell are:
  • To ensure compliance with norms and guidelines prescribed by the Apex/ Regulatory bodies.
  • Dissemination of information on various quality parameters of higher education.
  • To undertake self-evaluative and reflective exercises for continual improvement in all the systems and processes of the University.
  • To retrieve information and develop quality benchmarks/parameters for the various academic and administrative activities of the University and to document its own best practices, programmes/activities leading to quality improvement.
  • To conduct need analysis before the launch of any new academic program and evaluation of all programmes after three batches.
  • To devise mechanisms to identify gaps and obtain feedback from various Faculties/Departments/ Units/Centres, Students, Employees of the University, and other stakeholders for input and suggest measures for quality improvement.
  • To guide the inculcation of values of ‘Quality Assurance’ along with those of research, scholarship and pursuit of excellence among the quintessential students;
  • Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines parameters of NAAC and submission to NAAC.
