Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts, Rohtak, initially set up as Integrated Campus of the Government Technical Institution(s) Society in 2004, came into existence by Haryana Act No. 24 of 2014. The establishment of this University Library coincided with the inception of Integrated Campus. Though the library is still in its infancy, yet it is making progress and is readying itself to take long strides under the guidance, patronage and unqualified support of the Vice-Chancellor, a library lover par excellence. Presently the library is housed in a well done-up air-conditioned hall where the library patrons are provided very cosy reading and serious study environment. Having a separate library building is under serious consideration of the university authorities. The library has a core collection of 22483 books and subscribes to over 100 print and e-journals in its broad areas of academic activities— planning and architecture, visual arts, design and Film and TV. The library subscribes to Art and Architecture Complete database of M/s EBSCO Publishing, USA. It is centrally located and is not more than five minutes walk from any part of the University including Hostel. The Library is using KOHA for automation of its activities. All the library activities such as Check-in Check-out, OPAC, barcoding, issuance of library ID cards, online dissemination of information about new arrivals, delivery of sms message to the borrowers about the books checked-out/ checked-in by them.
