Exciting Finale Marks Second Day of DLC SUPVA Sports Meet with Mixed Doubles, Poster & Slogan
The second day of the maiden Sports Meet at DLC SUPVA unfolded with spirited
competitions and vibrant participation from students, faculty, and staff. The highlight of the
day was the Mixed Doubles Badminton Tournament, which witnessed an impressive turnout
of 16 participating teams. In a closely contested final, the pair of Sandeep Dalal and
Deepshikha clinched the first prize, while Anand and Anuradha secured the second prize. In
the individual category, Director Sports Sh. Neeraj Malik emerged as the winner, while
Naveen bagged the second position.
The university thus accomplished its first-ever Sports Meet today, reinforcing the spirit of
fitness, teamwork, and friendly competition. The two-day event, featured tug-of-war,
volleyball, apart from badminton, saw enthusiastic participation from faculty, staff, and
students.
Adding a creative dimension to the Sports Meet, poster-making and slogan-writing
competitions were also organized. In poster-making, Pranshuta (Visual Arts – Applied Arts,
2nd year) won the first prize, while Yash Chopra (Visual Arts – Applied Arts, 2nd year)
secured the second prize. In slogan-writing, Ravi (Visual Arts – Painting, 2nd year) bagged
the first prize, and Naveen (Design, 1st year) won the second prize.
The winners of all competitions shall be felicitated in a special ceremony to be held
separately.
Reflecting on the success of the event, Director Sports Sh. Neeraj Malik said, “Sports are not
just about competition, they are about building resilience, teamwork, and discipline. This
Sports Meet has infused a fresh energy on campus, and the enthusiastic participation across
categories proves that DLC SUPVA is on the right path to reviving its sports culture.”
Registrar Dr Gunjan Malik said that with its blend of athletics, creativity, and community
spirit, the Sports Meet has set the tone for an annual tradition that promises to grow
stronger with each edition.
