After years of delay, 120 students from past batches to finally complete their projects

In a long-awaited development, the degree projects of Film & TV students at DLC SUPVA, which had been pending for several years, have finally taken off. The 2018 and 2021 batches will be the first to commence their projects from 21st September, followed by the 2020 batch in November. By the end of this year, a total of 120 students will have completed their long-delayed projects. The breakthrough comes under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya, who, soon after taking charge, made it a priority to clear pending all the academic projects of Film & TV students. Recognising the urgency of the situation, Dr. Arya personally oversaw a revamp of the entire process—expediting approvals, ensuring procurement of necessary equipment, facilitating logistical support, and hiring additional technical personnel wherever required. Speaking on the occasion, Head of the Department of Film & TV, Sh. Mahesh T.P., expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor: “This is a very big step for our students. Film-making is the cornerstone of their professional training. But it is a complex business with all kind of financial, administrative and logistical bottlenecks. The delay in completion of these projects led to spillover on current projects too. Thanks to the initiative and support of the Vice-Chancellor, these projects have now been set in motion with full institutional backing.” He also said that in the next 18-24 months all the pending projects shall be completed. The Vice-Chancellor interacted with the students and faculty members, extending his best wishes and words of encouragement: “I believe academic and creative pursuits must never be allowed to remain incomplete. These projects will not only fulfil long-pending commitments but will also help students showcase their talent and build a strong foundation for their careers in media and cinema. I am proud of the resilience shown by our students and faculty, and assure full support from the university in ensuring their success.” The launch of these projects marks a turning point for the Film & TV Department, reaffirming DLC SUPVA’s commitment to nurturing creativity, innovation, and professional excellence among its students.
