The Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), Rohtak, celebrated the spirit of collaboration today as Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya felicitated over 300 volunteer students whose dedication and efforts made the University’s 12th Foundation Day celebration on August 14, 2025, a grand success. The felicitation ceremony, convened by Dean Students’ Welfare Sh. Vinay Kumar and co-convened by Director Youth Affairs Sh. Dushyant, also honored the members of the organizing committee. Present on the occasion as Special Guest, Sh. Rajesh Jain, Chairman, LPS Bossard Pvt. Ltd., lauded the vibrant work culture and renewed energy infused into the University under the dynamic leadership of VC Dr. Arya. The Foundation Day, marked earlier this month, witnessed a spectacular confluence of art, culture, and tradition, attracting dignitaries from the fields of media, literature, cinema, medical sciences, and public life, alongside the University’s faculty, students, and alumni. Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya said, “Our students are the heartbeat of this institution. The successful celebration of our 12th Foundation Day reflects their passion, discipline, and creative energy. As a university, we are committed to nurturing this spirit in academics, arts, sports, and social responsibility, building DLC SUPVA into a hub of holistic excellence.” Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik added, “This felicitation is not merely a token of appreciation but an acknowledgment of the collective strength of our student and faculty community. It is this synergy that propels DLC SUPVA forward.” Adding to the festive fervor, the University also kicked off its first-ever Sports Meet today, reinforcing the spirit of fitness, teamwork, and friendly competition. The first day of the two-day event, featuring rope-pulling, volleyball, and badminton, saw enthusiastic participation from faculty, staff, and students. In the rope-pulling contest, the faculty category was won by the team led by Associate Professor Dr. Chirag Rajan; in the non- teaching staff category, the winners were the team led by Director, Sports Sh. Neeraj Malik; and in the girls’ student category, the Faculty of Design emerged champions. The Sports Meet, coordinated by Sh. Dushyant, is aligned with the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports’ observance of National Sports Day on August 29, dedicated to the Olympic Spirit of Excellence, Friendship, and Respect on the birth anniversary of Hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand. Reflecting on the initiative, Sh. Dushyant remarked, “The University’s maiden Sports Meet is a landmark effort to revive the culture of sports and fitness in our campus. Sports bring out the best in teamwork, perseverance, and respect—values that are central to both life and learning.” In another inspiring initiative, VC Dr. Arya led a plantation drive in the University’s residential campus today, reinforcing DLC SUPVA’s commitment to sustainability. The drive, aimed at fostering a greener and cleaner campus, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty alike. With the blend of cultural celebration, sportsmanship, and environmental stewardship, DLC SUPVA continues to set benchmarks in holistic education and community building.
